Cinnamon Bay Campground. TEL (809) 776-6330. Surrounded by thousands of acres of tropical vegetation, the accommodation is close to the beach and comes in three styles: cottages, canvas tents and basic campsites. This site is so popular that a stay is limited to two weeks at a time.
LOCAL ATTRACTIONS:
Cruz Bay.The main town of St. John - also known as 'party central' - is only 10 minutes away. A plethora of bars and restaurants have been arranged only a short stumble from the port. The fabulous shopping complex called Mongoose Junction has wonderful shops dedicated to handmade items: Ceramics, paintings, tribal jewelry, sculpture and furniture. A relaxing and terrific restaurant as well.
ACCESS TO BEACH:
Open air shuttle bus/taxis carry passengers on a 12- minute ride along a mountainous road past Trunk Bay to Cinnamon Bay. Parking for those with vehicles.
QUALITY OF BEACH:
Yet another beautiful beach with gently undulating sand. Well used, like most public beaches in St. John.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:
Consideration has been given to parking a lot of cars close enough so it is an easy walk to the beach, but not so close as to spoil it. Again, wear sandals.
